The lowest fees on the market
We charge less than other platforms. What you save on fees is yours, not ours.
Exchange your local currency for digital dollars (and back) with the payment apps you already use. No overseas accounts. The lowest fees on the market.
The problem
You work all month.
You send money to your family.
A big chunk stays along the way.
Then inflation eats what's left, and what you save.
There's another way.
Syklo turns your pesos or bolívares into digital dollars (and back) in minutes, between real people.
Who it's for
Syklo is for anyone who wants their money to be worth more.
We charge less than other platforms. What you save on fees is yours, not ours.
Your pesos or bolívares lose value every day; in dollars, what you save today you keep.
Send money to your family without paying the 8-12% that transfer companies charge.
Buy or sell dollars whenever you need them. You can also top up the apps and cards you use.
We're aiming for an estimated yield of ~6% a year on your savings: more than a traditional bank gives you on dollars. We'll let you know when it's live.
How it works
All you need is your email. Open it from your phone's browser or your computer. No download required. Under five minutes.
Pick the amount and the payment method you already use, like Zinli, Nequi or Mercado Pago. Syklo automatically finds the best available offer for you.
You transfer with your usual app. The system protects the exchange until the transaction is confirmed. Your dollars appear in your Syklo account.
The app
Your balance is USDC (a digital dollar backed 1:1) and it lives in your own Stellar account, not ours. No one can freeze it or spend it for you.
Say how much you want to exchange and Syklo finds the best offer. A smart contract holds the dollars until both sides deliver. No one can walk away without paying.
Send dollars to your family or any account in seconds, for cents. No transfer companies taking a cut.
Countries & methods
You don't have to open new accounts. You use exactly the app you already know and trust. These are some of the methods available today.
For the curious
No jargon. It's this simple.
You don't buy dollars from Syklo. We connect you with someone who wants the opposite: you pay in your currency and they give you dollars, or the other way around.
When you open your account, your dollars stay in your name. Syklo doesn't hold them and can't use them for you.
The dollars are held while the payment happens. They're only released when both people confirm. No one can walk away without delivering.
More detail
If you want to go deeper: how exchanges are matched, how each trade is protected, and what's behind the app.
Syklo runs a P2P model (person to person). Traders (people who post offers to buy or sell dollars) list USDC offers specifying amount, rate and payment method. The matching engine automatically pairs the best available offer against the incoming request, optimizing for price and payment method.
Unlike a CEX (centralized exchange), Syklo doesn't act as a market maker (someone who continuously posts buy and sell prices) or take its own position. The spread (the gap between the buy and sell price) is set by the traders in the order book (the list of open offers), not the platform.
Every transaction opens an escrow (a temporary hold on the dollars) implemented as a contract (a program that only runs when certain conditions are met) on the Stellar network (a blockchain). When an offer is found, the seller's USDC transfers to a multisig escrow account (one that needs more than one authorization to move the money) controlled by the contract, not by Syklo. To release the money, both people in the transaction have to accept: they sign the escrow release. If there's a dispute, a judge reviews the evidence and signs instead.
Each user's USDC balance lives in a wallet (your own digital account where your dollars are kept) on the Stellar network (a blockchain). Syklo doesn't custody funds (it doesn't hold or control them for you): it can't initiate transfers or freeze accounts.
During an active transaction, the USDC sits in the on-chain escrow (recorded and protected on the blockchain). When no transaction is in progress, your dollars go back to your wallet. At no point does Syklo have access to the money.
If a counterparty doesn't confirm receipt of the fiat payment (traditional money, like pesos or bolívares), either side can escalate to a dispute. The escrow (the temporary hold on the dollars) stays frozen until a resolution has been reached.
A Syklo judge reviews the evidence both parties submit: transfer receipts, chat screenshots, payment timestamps, and bank confirmations. Resolution is evidence-based: the judge decides which party to release the escrow's USDC to.
Coming soon. This feature isn't available yet; we'll let you know when it goes live.
Yield comes from providing liquidity (making dollars available so others can exchange) to a USDC pool (a shared pool of dollars) from an external project. Liquidity providers receive a fraction of the fee on every transaction that uses the pool.
The APY (the estimated yearly return) is variable and depends on transaction volume and how much is in the pool. More activity means more yield distributed. The ~6% annual figure is the historical range observed, not a guaranteed rate.
Dollars in Syklo are USDC (USD Coin), a stablecoin issued by Circle, with 1:1 reserves audited in USD and US Treasuries. It has no market-volatility exposure. 1 USDC = 1 USD at all times.
Syklo runs on Stellar (a blockchain), a network built for moving money. Transfers settle in seconds, in an account you control.
The app is a PWA (Progressive Web App). No app-store install required. It runs in the browser with the same capabilities as a native app.
